HELLO. I AM VITA.

Food stylist & storyteller. Loves nature and healthy food, and good coffee.

About Vita

I grew up on a small farm in the Rhodope Mountains,Bulgaria, where mornings smelled like warm milk, dough rising under embroidered towels, and the quiet breath of pine trees.

Food was never just food. It was ritual, story, medicine, and home.

My Culinary Path

I have over 20 years of experience as a chef – from restaurant kitchens to private clients, intimate dinners, and international retreats – always chasing the first truth I learned as a child: nourishment is a form of love.

Culinary school taught me technique, but life has its own alchemy.

At some point, I realized that cooking alone was not enough. I wanted to understand the emotional landscapes behind what we eat – the nervous system, the memories, the wounds, the longings. I wanted to know why certain foods soothe us, why others ignite us, and how a single dish can bring a person back to themselves.

So, I later became a certified nutrition coach and began exploring nutrition from a biopsychosocial perspective — where food, psychology, culture, and childhood experience meet.

And then a storyteller. Or, perhaps, I’ve always been one.

And then – without planning it –  a healer of sorts.

I work with:

  • nervous system–sensitive eaters
  • children with special needs
  • people healing from emotional eating
  • anyone seeking a more grounded relationship with food

My approach blends:

  • farm-to-table simplicity
  • gut–brain science
  • emotional nourishment
  • sensory-friendly cooking
  • Ayurvedic insight
  • and the pure joy of eating well

A chef’s fire isn’t on the stove — it’s in the heart that refuses to play it safe.

Every Cook

My work is simple:

To help people feel safe in their bodies, nourished by their kitchens, and connected to their own stories through the food they eat.

Cooking and food saved me more than once.

It gave me a voice, a path, and a way to transform my own wounds into something warm, beautiful, and useful.

This blog is my love letter to the world — written through recipes, memories, and soul medicine. This is where all parts of me meet:

  • the chef
  • the nutrition coach
  • the herbalist’s granddaughter
  • the writer
  • the woman who believes in symbols
  • the Tiger-Priestess who listens to instinct
  • the healer who knows food can speak when words cannot

Here, I write about food the way I experience it:

as memory, as medicine, as ritual, as the quiet thread that holds the body and soul in one place.

If you’re here, you’re probably someone who feels deeply.

Someone who knows that nourishment is not only on the plate, but also in the story behind it.

Cooking is about passion, so it may look slightly temperamental in a way that it’s too assertive to the naked eye.

Welcome

Come sit by the stove.

Let me feed your senses.

Let me tell you a story.

Yours truly,
Vita
